Understanding

People want to be understood. Some people go to great lengths to feel it! They may tear others down so they have a reference point for their feelings of inequity. They may pay a consultant $50,000 to tell them what they already know. They may travel to every continent of the planet on the search for a culture, a person, a city or a context that helps them feel understood.

How can our organisations, our people, our products, our services and our conversations allow the other person to feel understood. Not just a smile and a gentle nod. Really heard. Felt. As if they are moving things with their existence - even if they are seemingly standing still (cause they are not).

How can we inject 'knowing' into our everything? The look. The linger. The smile. The reflection. The re telling. The giving before being asked.
